One of the main aims of Genesis Farmers is to reconnect with food, the land and farming - to give people an appreciation of what we stand to lose and what we have to gain by returning to methods of farming and food production which make sense for the future. Wildlife and farm visitsGenesis Farmers can offer farm visits for local school children and others interested in observing wildlife, first hand. For more information, please call us.
School visitsGenesis Farmers are also pleased to visit local schools and to work with teachers to build awareness about sustainable food, farming and energy issues into the school curriculum. Local and traceableIn preference to non-descript, unidentifiable food available year-round, regardless of season or the price we pay for intensive production and worldwide distribution, we hope we convey the value of thoughtfully produced food - food with taste and provenance. We hope our customers think in terms of 'who' (precisely) produced it and what it took to do so. Energy which takes less than 1000's of years to produce...Similarly, our levels of non-renewable energy consumption cannot be sustained. Farmers hold one of the keys - fields full of potential sources of energy. All we have to do is connect the farmer producer to the consumer of energy. If you want to make a difference ... to make use of fuels derived from renewable, not exhausted, and irreplaceable sources - please call us. A sustainable supply chainGenesis Farmers is a working example, owned and run by farmers, of a completely local and sustainable supply chain. As a microcosm of food and energy supply, it is possible, literally, to ‘walk the chain’ from producer to consumer and to bring alive for debate issues for the future about how we live and how we produce and consume food and fuel. Genesis Farmers can contribute to discussion, and/or provide experience and live examples, on a wide range of topics:
