GENESIS FARMERS provide food and energy in a way that makes sense for the future, building a wider appreciation for the land and how we use it

Our Mission

• To create networks of farmers profitably providing food and energy to an exclusively LOCAL customer base.

• To reconnect customers with the land and farming, encouraging an appreciation of high quality food direct from farms, and the use of heat and power from sources which are local and can be renewed.

Company Profile

The first group of Genesis Farmers is up and running in the South West of England, around the village of Buckland Newton in Dorset.

We are a group of five, who, since April 2006, have been supplying the highest quality beef, pork and lamb to a local customer base of retail customers,  pubs, restaurants and  schools. The customer base is growing fast as the word spreads locally about the taste and quality of 'proper' meat produced by local farmers.

We sell our produce, not just as produce, but with an important message - one of quality, freshness, provenance, traceability and an absolute minimum of 'food miles' - in other words, good food produced properly and in a way which makes sense for the future.

We will soon be extending our range beyond meat, to include other kinds of locally produced FOOD.

In parallel, two other product ranges are being developed:

• ENERGY - heat and power derived from crops and supplied to local customers
• RECONNECT - a range of products to help build appreciation for the land and how we use it.
